CLASS DESCRIPTION:

This basic-level American Red Cross Babysitting course provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old.

The Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving children and infants. This blended learning course includes an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high-speed Internet connection. Note: Students must be physically able to successfully demonstrate CPR skills in order to receive the CPR certification.

The General Water Safety portion goal is to make participants aware of the importance of water safety training and provide them with general information about being safe in, on, or around the water.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a digital certificate for Babysitter's Training, General Water Safety, and a digital certificate for Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.
